I just tested with the latest updates (April 18th) and this is still an issue. A look at the bootchart reveals that plymouthd is actually started very early during the boot process (as it should). However the splash does not appear. Instead I only see a black screen with a blinking cursor. Then some boot messages, then a dark black screen and then finally the gdm-login screen.
I attach the bootchart. Please let me know if I can provide information that could help to solve this issue. ** Attachment added: "bootchart that shows that plymouthd is started early" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/44713194/goebbe-laptop-lucid-20100418-2.png ** Changed in: plymouth (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Tags added: regression-potential -- splash fails to show during boot (intel) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/555214 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
