I can confirm this bug too. I have now tested it on two laptops. One
eeepc 901 with 10.04 i386, and one Dell Inspiron 9400 with 10.04 AMD64.
With the openoffice systray quickstarter enabled I cannot shutdown
either of the machines from the gui (sudo halt works fine though). Both
machines are up-to-date with the latest packages as of today. I suggest
this bug is given top priority as it severely reduces the impression
users get of Ubuntu.
