There are a lot of changes in there, plus completely new code (a crypto library). This looks a bit dangerous this close to release? Wouldn't it be better to backport the fix for this crash instead?
If you want to push for the new release, please submit an upstream changelog, a rationale for copying in a crypto library instead of using the system one, and how much this new version has been tested on current lucid.
