These do seem similar to my bug. I will point out that I have had a problem on a different machine (a dell Inspiron 6400) even with Edgy, though it hibernated fine in Dapper. I had always assumed that this was because of something do with ndiswrapper. However, this bug here is on a machine without wifi.
BTW, bug 80614 above is different in that I am not seeing the words "Power down".
