Those three screenshots were taken with the latest kernel available for Karmic, that is with 2.6.31-20-generic.
I was also able to produce a system crash by reading from the DVD-ROM and the hard drive at the same time, but that experiment did not produce any output on screen. My system still crashes at random intervals, but this happens more seldomly now with Karmic, so that it is much more usable. At least reading from the hard-disk seems less problematic, but reading from DVDs is definitely still a major problem. I will run some tests with the lucid beta soon. -- [hardy/intrepid] read from IDE with VIA VT82C586A interface causes kernel panic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/278141 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
