I set up the PPA in my Ubuntu 9.10 to https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/drivers-only but apt-get does not retrieve the latest version. Maybe it takes some time until the repository is updated. I left the radeon.apgmode=4 in /etc/default/grub. In case I should remove it, please advice. Tomorrow I'll try again to install your patched version 1:6.13.99~git20100422.1ad41054-0ubuntu0tormod.
