This problem is not resolved for me, after a fresh Eclipse installation
yesterday (version 3.5.2-2ubuntu4). I've tried installing both the PDT
extension from the Gallileo update site, and the Aptana extension from
its own update site. In both cases the installations appear to work
correctly, but after restarting Eclipse there is no sign of the plugins.
None of the functionality or menu entries exist (as the with the
original reporter). Starting eclipse from the command line (with the
-debug flag) gives no clues as to why this is not working.

I've also tried installing the PDT extension from yogarine's PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~yogarine/+archive/eclipse (which I have used
successfully in previous Ubuntu releases) with the same results.
