On my laptop Ubuntu 10.04 freezes randomly in the same way as 9.10 did. There are no consistent log messages but I think the main problem seems to be the ath5k driver/chipset. The wlan disconnects and reconnects very often. In Jaunty I installed madwifi instead of ath5k for some time during which I hadn't any system freezes.
