While this is a valid bug, we're going to stick with Google Custom Search in
the foreseeable future.
I feel your pain on having less feature, but it's just the way things work.
Anyone is more than welcome to change their default home page if they care (I
change it, for example).
For the random user who doesn't care, this is perfectly fine.
