I followed the instructions on the link you sent me. I tried two things.
1. I launched nautilus from inside GDB. 2. I attached the GDB to a running instance. The results were the same. I also tried running the script at the bottom of the page describing gdb usage. This is the log file it produces [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] [New Thread 0x7fffeb6b2710 (LWP 19552)] [New Thread 0x7fffeaeb1710 (LWP 19555)] [New Thread 0x7fffea6b0710 (LWP 19556)] [New Thread 0x7fffe9eaf710 (LWP 19557)] [New Thread 0x7fffe96ae710 (LWP 19558)] [New Thread 0x7fffe8ead710 (LWP 19559)] [New Thread 0x7fffe3fff710 (LWP 19560)] [Thread 0x7fffe3fff710 (LWP 19560) exited] [Thread 0x7fffe8ead710 (LWP 19559) exited] [Thread 0x7fffe96ae710 (LWP 19558) exited] [Thread 0x7fffea6b0710 (LWP 19556) exited] [Thread 0x7fffeaeb1710 (LWP 19555) exited] [Thread 0x7fffeb6b2710 (LWP 19552) exited] [Thread 0x7fffe9eaf710 (LWP 19557) exited] Program exited normally.
