Just finished testing the latest ISO QA (20100427) and this bug is still
standing.

Since Lucid will be released in a few hours, here is my workaround to get it 
booting:
Update your boot-options to the following (F6 in the menu of your live-CD or 
"e" in your grub2 installation or add it in /etc/default/grub)
Original: "quiet splash"
Updated: "quiet nouveau.blacklist=true"

This will give you a nice and stable black screen with only some basic
output during booting and as soon as you reach you login-manager or
desktop you have a complete, and correct graphical interface. From that
point on you can choose to install the proprietary drivers or continue
without using all the features of your graphical card.
