I experienced this problem in Karmic. Now I am using Lucid Lynx and seem to be experiencing something similar. I get the same error messages: Unable to mount KODAK EasyShare CX7430 Zoom Digital Camera Error initializing camera: -60: Could not lock the device And this: Error Conecting to Camera Received error "Could not lock the device" while connecting to camera
The difference is that I am now able to download the photos from my camera!
