One way or the other, r-m needs to get along with this situation. It
currently claims that the hardware does not need any restricted drivers,
although it does, they are just not available.
r-m also needs to report to d-e in --check-composite that the currently
active driver does not work, to prevent d-e from enabling effects with
e. g. nv.
