Possibly. I have  AMD Turion x64, which is known to overheat. But these
points negate such a possibility:

   1. Hangups happen even say just after 10mins of uptime,
   2. I have it running with increased aeration (keeping a gap of about
   10cm from the table) under the laptop for aiding in heat dissipation,
   3. am able to compile a kernel for more than an hour and at full
   throttle, it did'nt hangup.
   4. an used to using the wired connection, so never use wireless
   scanning so not a problem.
