That's the question. I use Thunderbird and have a sound set. For me, it works. So what does it mean that it's "not working"? Is it that *you* have not chosen a sound file for Thunderbird? Or are you having other issues. If you've set a sound file and it's /still/ not working, then this may be a valid bug report as far as Launchpad is concerned.
