Playing with alacarte, I have reproduced the bug again, but I can't do it every time :( The problem has come turning off the Preferences item on System. Also, there are more lines in the crash to help:
** (alacarte:32158): CRITICAL **: gmenu_tree_ref: assertion `tree != NULL' failed Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/Alacarte/MainWindow.py", line 419, in on_item_tree_show_toggled self.editor.setVisible(item, True) File "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/Alacarte/MenuEditor.py", line 209, in setVisible menu_xml = self.__getXmlMenu(self.__getPath(item), dom, dom) File "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/Alacarte/MenuEditor.py", line 467, in __getPath path = menu.tree.root.get_menu_id() AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'root' Although called by another method, the bug happens again in __getPath, on trying to access to the 'tree' property of the menu (the 'menu' variable can be also an item). It is supposed that every 'gmenu' object must have a 'tree' property, but in this case this property is null. Besides, the assertion fail tells it too. -- [apport] alacarte crashed with AttributeError in __getPath() https://launchpad.net/bugs/84060 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
