Public bug reported:

running under Lucid Lynx 10.

External eSATA drive [maxor 1Tb] mounted via PCIe card mounts as read only.
Unable to mount as RW, cannot write to drive at all.
Unable to change permissions even logged in as root [drive is owned by root]
although drive auto mounts and reads ok.
Editing fstab &/or mtab to users,mode=0777 or users,mode=0755 does not enable
write support.
NTFS write support is shown as enabled.
Mount manger has no effect.
