I installed and ran Valgrind, and tried to follow your instructions. Rhythmbox does not crash, so I just let it run for a while and then closed the program. I also started a song and stopped it. The log grew to 2.5 GB...
I then killed rhythmbox and restarted it, just letting it "idle" over night. The process explorer showed somewhere about 4GB memory consumption... Note that on my old home PC, I was not able to reproduce this behaviour. Maybe this older machine is 32-bit and the machine where the faulty behavior can be noticed is 64-bit? ** Attachment added: "Valgrind rhythmbox - log - idle program most of the time" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/47846319/valgring-log-rhythmbox.tar.gz -- Rhythmbox eats a HUGE amount of memory on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (even if no music is running) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/575159 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
