I don't see why there would be a need for this "indicator" applet. Isn't there already a "Notification Area" for things like that? What if I want to put the volume control somewhere completely different from the other stuff that this indicator applet puts them? Maybe I just want the volume control and nothing else. This new "indicator" applet doesn't allow for that. Why can't stuff like this be done as an add-on instead of yanking the rug out from under people who like things the way they are?
