Hmm... you're right, proposed updates is checked in my software sources... I installed beta2 and set about customizing it to be almost as comfortable as my old 9.04 install... haven't quite gotten there yet (wish there was a nice plugin-based app to port those thousand-and-one customizations over to the new install!) but the point is that I've been using it live since beta2... any and all updates are fine for me :o)
With the exception of a suspend inhibition (Dell laptop, apparently temp sensors and fans don't work on resume from suspend), everything else on my laptop works just fine, and faster and better-looking, and so I don't mind proposed updates streaming in. Your POV may differ, based on what you're using your Lucid for.
