** Description changed: I have a a Creative X-Fi Soundcard in a DELL XPS 420. The soundcard itself is recognized and sound output works fine with all analog profiles. Also the microphone works when plugged in the rear jack of the sound card. When I use the front jacks on the DELL with a headset though, neither the sound is redirected there nor is the microphone recognized. Sound continues to come from the boxes connected to the rear jack. So it is not detected that the front jacks are in use right now.
