I meant the generic kernels that Ubuntu provides (2.6.31-32) are the
issue. I did not try to download and compile a kernel provided by
Ubuntu. Instead I downloaded the 2.6.33.3 Stable kernel from
http://kernel.org/ . I used the same .config file from the previous
kernel but turned on some logging features for the ath9k driver. I
imagine the 2.6.34 RC would do just as well. It's day 2 and the issue
still hasn't shown up. Several speed tests show consistent tests. Today
I've been playing around streaming music from other machines to this
one, and from this one to my PS3. Ping tests have shown 0 packets lost
out of hundreds sent. Try downloading and compiling the 2.6.33 kernel
and see how it goes for you Franck. I am quite pleased with my new
machine now.
