I formatted again for a clean install, did not apply any updates, did as you said in the previous comment and have the same result :(
I think I made a potential big mistake though. For some reason I though Windows read my NIC as RTL8192se but it really reads it as RTL8191seVA2. However, the Realtex site uses the same driver for the RTL8192se and RTL8191seVA2 devices. I hope I haven't been a fool.
