@Aaron are you using the E6410? I tried for hours to get the Touchpad working correctly, I tried Editing /etc/X11/xorg.config changed from Mouse0 to Synaptics, added it to ServerLayout, Added 'Load "synaptics"' created HAL file: /etc/hal/fdi/policy/shmconfig.fdi enabled shared memory in my fstab rebooted.. I have tried everything to get SHM to run that I could think of.
Nothing.
