Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg
Firstly a little background on my setup. I have an Nvidia GeForce 7200 Video card with dual outputs. I have two monitors attached to this video card. (IBM & SGI) physically arranged in that order. define: Haywire = The mouse cursor starts flickering and moving on the screen horizontally without the mouse actually moving. When this occurs everything become unresponsive resulting in a hard reset of the system. The problem I am having is, by default my primary monitor is the SGI on the right. When I try to move the location of the IBM from the right to the left of the SGI monitor using the Nvidia Xserver configuration tool(ultimately xorg.conf) the mouse goes haywire as soon as I try to move it off the SGI monitor on to the IBM Monitor. As long as I have the monitors set in the xorg.conf file as (SGI & IBM) everything works fine; excepting that to get to my IBM monitor that is physically on the left I have to move off the SGI to the right. Summary: Physical Monitor arrangement = IBM - SGI Virtual Arrangement that works = SGI - IBM Virtual Arrangement that fails = IBM - SGI Thanks, Mickey ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: xorg 1:7.5+5ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-21.32-generic 2.6.32.11+drm33.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-21-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Architecture: amd64 Date: Fri May 14 15:53:26 2010 DkmsStatus: nvidia-current, 195.36.15, 2.6.32-21-generic, x86_64: installed InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release amd64 (20100429) ProcCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-21-generic root=UUID=33390486-30a5-4b86-b333-0c3575ede05f ro quiet nomodeset ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: xorg Xrandr: Error: command ['xrandr', '--verbose'] failed with exit code 1: Xlib: extension "RANDR" missing on display ":0.0".
