I had the same problem: What I did to come across this is I change the
icon in the menu editor it doesn't do anythig to the icon used in
favorites.
My research shows that the problem is that the .desktop files created
for the favorites menu ( in ~/.local/share/applications) ONLY set the
Icon[en-us]=/path/of/my/new/icon it does NOT however also edit the
Icon=/path/to/old/icon
I think toomanyplugs found the same thing.
Hope that someone fixes this, because it really looks UGLY (especially
when you make prism apps, and all it shows up as the launcher icon,
YUCK)
