Hi Jeremy, Tested using the live cd version available here as of writing ( 16May2010 ) :
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/lucid-desktop-i386.iso 29-Apr-2010 13:56 md5: d044a2a0c8103fc3e5b7e18b0f7de1c8 *lucid-desktop-i386.iso Still i could not get the LED light on my router to light up. Can ping my own system after assigning an ip address. But cannot ping router. ( Message said wired connection established when i clicked on the connection icon ) I also installed the kernel mainstream build, for the above live version, by following the instruction and link here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/MainlineBuilds?action=show&redirect=KernelMainlineBuilds I executed: sudo dpkg -i *.deb and it installed the package. The mainstream version that i tried was the daily build: linux-image-2.6.34-999-generic_2.6.34-999.201005011008_i386.deb 01-May-2010 12:08 30M (Downloaded more than two weeks ago. Will try with more recent one if required. ) I disconnected and reconnected the connection but the router LAN light would still not light up. ( Could not figure out what else i could do. ) Should i remove the "requires upstream tag" now? -regards -ravi -- rtl8029 nic [10ec:8029] (ne2k_pci) broken (again) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/543504 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
