I've created a solution to get users working. I've updated the Intel hda
alsa driver with conexant codec updates in latest alsa 1.0.23 tree. This
is a solution until updates for the alsa intel hda driver can land into
the 10.04 kernel tree.

You'll need to install dkms before hand:
sudo apt-get install dkms

This package will get microphone jack working under 10.04 until an
official update is released with the fix in it.

This package has been tested on a T410 and works great.
