Chris, if OOo crashes only for a certain printer this does not say that the crash happens withing libcups or OpenOffice.org. The PPDs have a lot of sdata items and strings which are different from printer to printer and for printer X a PostScript code snippet assigned to an option setting can be too long for a data structure of OOo's printing dialog and for printer Y all PostScript snippets are short enough. I am not sure, but as far as I remember OOo inserts the PostScript code defined in the PPD files into PostScript output and does not only send "<option>=<choice>" pairs along with the job as IPP attributes (what other printing dialogs do). Am I right? But even the case that OOo displays the options in the printing dialog can cause a crash depending on which PPD is used.
Until assigning it to one of the two packages a symbolic backtrace is needed which shows whether the crash happens in OOo's code or in libcups. So please check at first where the crash is actually located. ** Package changed: cups (Ubuntu) => openoffice.org (Ubuntu) -- Openoffice crash printing file with HP Laserjet 1150 and 1320 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/394438 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
