I am not able to reproduce this issue in Xubuntu 10.04. However, perhaps some more information will allow the developers to see what is happening here. Please supply the following information:
1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd'. 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy packagename' or by checking in Synaptic. 3) Please attaach your ~/.xsession-errors log file as a separate text only file.
