Hi, in Karmic I found out the workaround of using the native OOo ODBC driver to conncect to the MySQL tables and that solved part of the problem. The remaining part (not solved for me) in Karmic was that DB navigation inside OObase led to any sort of query error and seeming loss of data (for instance, it said that a field was empty while it was actually containing data as one could verify through a simple command line query).
in Lucid all problems are gone for me but I still have to use the native OOo ODBC driver, the one coming from MySQL is not working even in Lucid and cause OO to freeze as soon as it attempts to retrieve tables. At least this is the situation for me; I've tried on 3 different Lucid installations here in office and the issues are the same. I'm here if you need some more informations or elucidations.
