Actually this is the defined behavior of PackageKit, see
http://www.packagekit.org/gtk-
doc/Transaction.html#Transaction.SearchNames

"The search methods should return all results in all repositories. This
may mean that multiple versions of package are returned. If this is not
what is wanted by the client program, then the newest filter should be
used."

So it is up to KPackageKit to decide.
