beta versions of 10.04, and 9.10 let me suspend and resume without issues. At some point one of the updates in the final release broke my suspend / resume. It may be related to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Testing/GEMLeak . The laptop has a intel945GM graphics chipset.
