I just got the same issue, but it wasn't related to suspend or sleep, I just "hard-shutdowned" it. Only thing I made different related to network was to plug the laptop on cable ethernet instead of using wireless... But it worked fine. I hard shutdowned it by pure laziness as everything was working fine...
