I have similar situation as described in this bug, was running on nvidia version 173 and the dist-upgrade installed 195.36.15, it appears that the linkages did not all move from 173 version to 195. If bug 572937 gets addressed, I hope it will fix this. From what I have read, it seems that I need to remove the nvidia package completely and re-install manually with the latest version from nvidia, as of this writing it is 195.36.24 .
