However, I've started from a perfectly functional installation of Ubuntu 9.10, via normal upgrade to Lucid Lynx (now stable). Isn't the .deb package manager supposed to take care of these upgrade details, meet dependencies, start necesarry services automatically, etc. - in order to obtain a fully functional Lucid installation ?
