I've discovered the same problem with Ubuntu 10.04, kernel 2.6.32-22-generic on a Lenovo Thinkpad R61. Accidentally I've found following solution for me:
echo enabled > /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1c.1/0000:03:00.0/power/wakeup I don't know what it does, but it seems to work. Suspend and resume works now as expected.
