Same issue in E6510 using kernel 2.6.32.22.23 and nvidiato driver 195.36.15-0ubuntu3. Doesn't seem to be just a suspend issue. I have the machine set to just blank the screen when the lid is closed. When I reopen the lid, the screen won't wake back up. If I toggle over to the console and back (ctrl-alt-F1, ctrl-alt-F7) then it comes back to life.
