I have encounter this same problem since installing Lucid and K3B. Today I tried to duplicate the bug prior to reporting here and managed to erase one CD-RW without any problems. In trying to erase a second and sebsequent CD-RW K3B produced the following errors: "1. Probably a buffer underrun occurred, 2. please choose a lower burning speed, 3. Blanking error, 4. Sorry no error handling yet."
The speed choices for blanking are only "auto".
