Public bug reported: kubuntu-desktop needs to Depend on ttf-liberation as ubuntu-desktop, xubuntu-desktop, lubuntu-desktop already do.
This is due to metric incompatible font fallback in the case when it is not installed. Fonts such as 'Times New Roman' have no metric compatible font in a default install of Kubuntu. See: /etc/fonts/conf.d/30-metric-aliases.conf For the 'Times New Roman' case it falls back to 'Times' which then maps to 'Nimbus Roman No9 L' instead of the metric compatible Liberation Serif'. I believe it also happens for 'Courier New' -> 'Courier' -> 'Nimbus Mono L' instead of to 'Liberation Mono'.
