Public bug reported: Binary package hint: thunderbird
Thunderbird in Ubuntu needs support for the dictionary transition that happened in Debian last year. I told several people about this issue on IRC and at UDS but it seems to have not been fixed yet and may have been forgotten so I am filing this bug now. I am not sure if Thunderbird has basis in any packaging in Debian but if so then a general merge of other fixes may be needed as well. I know Debian doesn't have a 'Thunderbird' package as such but does have an unbranded version. The fix appears to be changing these lines: rules: dh_link usr/share/myspell/dicts $(DEBIAN_TB_DIR)/dictionaries thunderbird.postinst.in:SYS_DICTIONARY_DIR=/usr/share/myspell/dicts to rules: dh_link usr/share/hunspell $(DEBIAN_TB_DIR)/dictionaries thunderbird.postinst.in:SYS_DICTIONARY_DIR=/usr/share/hunspell It looks like it might need to check on upgrades and switch the symlink as well, but I am not certain.
