Upstream doesn't like the patch. They prefer the fsyncs since that
provides database consistency. As said in my previous post, some work is
done in another direction, living with fsyncs.

If you don't want them and are ok with the consequences of disabling
fsync, you can apply the patch. Upstream won't.
