Can confirm the bug with latest updates on 10.04, HP tx2020eo laptop. Problem did not exist on this machine in 8.04, appeared in 8.10, still existed in 9.04, disappeared in 9.10, and now it is back again. And this time it seems to affect wicd too, which earlier could be used as a workaround.
