Public bug reported:

My spare laptop no longer works with VGA. I tried the hotkey, xrandr,
and KDE's screen configuration utility. xrandr and KDE's thing both had
the configuration set properly, but when I click the "detect outputs"
button in KDE, it shows both output names on my laptop screen and sends
nothing to the projector.

It's a spare laptop, so the last time I tried this was on Hardy, and it
worked. The machine is currently running Lucid. Because it has a
broken CD drive and cannot boot from USB flash drives, I don't have the
ability right now to test other releases easily.

This is restricted to the 945 chip. My other laptop is a 965 and works
fine.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Confirmed
