Public bug reported:

Version: Ubuntu 10.04.
I was trying to get sound out of Rosegarden. Then out of VanBasco (under Wine).
I got silence.
My sound card is "on board", (Gigabyte), and not being found.
I was trying to install plugins that might have been missing.
Then I tried to install Belarc, under wine, and that seemed to install, but
won't run.
I have just tried to install "sysinfo" to get what Belarc might have told me,
and got the oss4 error message again...
I was using Synaptic Package Manager.
Root Terminal, plus your Sound troubleshooting Basics, didn't get me anywhere
either.
So I don't know how to tell you the specs of my system...
And I don't know whether this counts as a "duplicate" or...
Over to you!
