Public bug reported: I've followed the instructions in: http://live.gnome.org/GnomeScreensaver/FrequentlyAskedQuestions#How_can_I_create_a_new_theme_for_a_pre-existing_theme_engine.3F, but I cannot get any new themes installed.
I've removed all the .desktop files in /usr/share/applications/screensavers/, but the themes persisted, even after reboot. Only after a system update the themes were deleted. I copied them back, but they don't appear. Here they mention a workaround, http://ohioloco.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9463283#post9463283, but the screensaver configuration is not working as claimed in the faqs. lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Release: 10.04 gnome-screensaver: Installed: 2.30.0-0ubuntu2 Candidate: 2.30.0-0ubuntu2 Version table: *** 2.30.0-0ubuntu2 0 500 http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-updates/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 2.30.0-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- I cannot install new gnome-screensaver themes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/594521 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
