I would love to be able to provide this information, but unfortunately,
since this failed installation, I am unable to boot this machine. Please
tell me how to access the requested files and I will do so.

192 MB RAM
6.04 GB hard drive
Windows XP

Ububtu 10.04 i386 installed from iso cd as single OS (i.e., Win XP
erased)

Inatallation halted at 95% complete with following error message:

The /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partmam files are not accessible because I 
have no user interface. The laptop won't boot.
