In that case, how come this inconsistency showed up? I think that I
installed grub1 by mistake (just searched for grub, and grub showed up,
didn't know it was version 1). I think that grub1 shouldn't be available
for Lucid, or just make it install grub-pc.

Sorry, as a user, I don't think this issue is completely fixed (despite
it's fixed for me, thanks for your instructions anyway), since the same
problem will happen to anyone innocently trying to install grub.
