I am the translator of K3b into spanish and also a Kubuntu user. I can confirm this bug in Lucid. The original .po files with the translations are ok (with UTF-8), and if I use msgftm to generate the .mo files, the translations in the screens are shown pertfectly. This bug does not happen in other distributions, like Suse, so is a problem of Kubuntu packaging.
