Looking at 465034 the symptoms looked identical, however, it appeared
465034 was solved, so I ran update manager to make sure my system was up
to date with all patches (except Transmission Manager, which barfs on
updates - reported elsewhere) and then tested again.

Both aMSN and Pidgin still log out of their respective accounts when
status is changed in indicator applet.

I checked in synaptic and most of the telepathy modules are still
installed

telepathy-butterfly and telepathy-haze still show up in the GNOME
process monitor as running. I tried killing them but they restart
themselves.

dpkg reports the following telepathy packages are installed

telepathy-butterfly install
telepathy-gabble install
telepathy-haze install
telepathy-idle install
telepathy-mission-control-5 install
telepathy-salut install

Can I uninstall them?

Since i already uninstalled Empathy, I cannot disable the accounts that
telepathy thinks it has by using that - is there another way?
